Christi Krause, Watercolor Artist

Lavender Salt Studio
I grew up in the high desert of Central Oregon, surrounded by vast skies, sagebrush plains, and the ever-changing light that defines the landscape. From an early age, I studied the natural beauty around me—the subtle shifts in color at sunset, the quiet strength of juniper trees, and the way open space invites reflection. That environment shaped not only my perspective, but also my creative spirit.
Art has always been a part of my life. It has been a constant thread—both a way to observe the world more deeply and a way to express what words cannot. Through watercolor, I am drawn to the fluidity, transparency, and softness of the medium. Its natural movement mirrors the organic beauty that first inspired me.
I strive to create paintings that bring joy and light to those who experience them. My hope is that each piece evokes memories of a special place, a meaningful season, or a cherished moment in time. If my work can spark a sense of warmth, nostalgia, or quiet happiness, then I feel I have shared something worthwhile.
